Sue classes are a flow of hatha yoga, somatic sequencing, breath and alignment and always conclude with a soothing guided relaxation called yoga nidra. She encourages people to tune into sensation to find easeful, mindful movement that supports a sustainable, comfortable practice. Sue offers open level group classes, restorative yoga and private 1:1 classes from the Yoga Freedom Studio in Avondale Heights, Melbourne.
Beyond the mat, she is a qualified chef and passionate gardener with a love of fresh, nourishing food. She enjoys cooking with seasonal ingredients, often harvested from her own garden and prepares all of the meals at her annual yoga retreat, a highlight her guests look forward to year after year.
A dedicated lifelong yoga student herself, she continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing study in somatic movement, anatomy and yoga philosophy. She is a Registered Level 3 Senior Teacher with Yoga Australia.
Her personal journey has profoundly shaped her teaching. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Sue drew strength by embracing the yogic philosophy of ‘being present with what is now’ and adapting her personal practice to support her healing process through to full recovery. She brings this gentle patience, compassion and understanding to her work, supporting others navigating physical or emotional illness and injury.
Believing wholeheartedly that yoga offers something for everyone, she creates classes where students feel supported, welcomed and empowered to explore their own path.
